A solo show of encaustic paintings inspired by walks on the beach. The works are layered, luminous, evoking the flow of water, bits of shell, coral, sand, the feeling of the ocean, of being at the water's edge.

Artist/curator Joyce Ellen Weinstein invited 18 artists to exhibit in this hip Lower East Side Gallery. The work is strong and varied.

Exhibition Theme: Sanctuaries in Time
As each person is unique, so too is each hour and each moment unique. How do we resolve the tension of the inevitable passage of time and the desire to cherish special moments? Time envelops holiness; time interacts with space and nature; time is a constant in the world around us; time is attached to sacred events. The Book of Exodus, chapters 25-40, offers detailed instructions for constructing a sanctuary, illustrating the timeless struggle to set aside time and space for creating and building a life of values and spirituality. How do we move "beyond the confines of measured time"(Abraham Joshua Heschel) to build our own sanctuaries in time? The challenge to the artist is to consider the balance of the mystery and continuum of time and her place in the present.

Interpretations of the theme in surprising ways!

Strong women's work in many media fill the two enormous galleries on the first floor of the Delaplaine. About 30 WCA members are participating.

Three of my pieces from Spring are up at Ceres. They are gorgeous.

Annual juried exhibit. I have one new piece, Treeline #1, in the show. The panel of jurors considered 616 entries submitted by 227 artists representing 27 states. The jury selected 99 works of art by 91 artists from 22 different states! I am very pleased and proud to be in this show again.
